Administrative Assistant, Loans & Credit

 

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a professional and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant to support the Branch Manager and Account Manager for our Banff branch.

This is a full-time role, with some flexibility in hours. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation and submissions of mortgage renewals, and new loan applications
  • Ensuring reports are completed accurately and within committed time frames
  • Verifying information related to member loan applications including financial statements, credit bureaus, and other reference checks
  • Verifying applicant’s information and security, analyze financial information, assess credit and approve applications within discretionary limits or make recommendation for approvals/declines to supervisor
  • Reviewing daily paid out loans and ensure necessary discharges occur including the PPSA and land titles
  • Assisting with monitoring branch delinquency on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Assisting with reporting and completion of month-end and quarter-end loan reports
  • Data entry.

 

What You Bring

You will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for administration and a sterling approach to member service. In addition, the following qualifications are required:

  • Post-secondary education in a related specialty such as Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Real Estate or Para-legal studies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience in a credit union, banking or lending environment is considered an asset
  • Experience working with loan application systems would be considered an advantage
  • Aptitude and ability to apply effective administrative skills, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail while managing large volumes and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize, strong organizational and effective multi-tasking skills
  • High level of computer literacy, with intermediate to advance skill level in Microsoft Office Programs (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) is essential
  • Excellent writing and mathematical skills
  • Sound decision making abilities and self-confidence
  • Effective communication skills that demonstrate the ability to work directly with people in a customer service capacity
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Must be self-directed with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting
  • A positive and enthusiastic team player and an eagerness to pitch-in where needed
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development

Member Service Representative II

The Opportunity

  • Report to the Member Service Manager and assists with the day to day operations of the Credit Union
  • Provide members with a variety of service options related to personal and business financial needs, by promoting the value and benefits, and advising on best match
  • Foster relationships with our members through building service excellence and product knowledge
  • Process member transactions such as new business and personal account openings, RRSP’s, RSP’s, term deposit sales, wires, and insurance products

What You Bring

  • Minimum of Grade 12 High School Diploma; GED with relevant work experience may be considered
  • 1 – 2 years experience as a Member Service Representative I or Front-line Teller
  • Superior customer service abilities and cash handling experience would be considered an asset
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in team environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office computer applications; Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be bondable & criminal and credit record check will be required
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
